The Qoutes

This is your life and it’s ending one minute at a time
Many quotes from Fight Club imply that life is short – very, very short. The message of this quote is simple – stop wasting time on bullshit and start living your life. Truly living. Every man dies, not every man truly lives – this is a quote from the movie Braveheart.

Let me break up this quote for you… “This is your life”, when Tyler says this, he emphasizes “This”, as if live is a piece of crap. He says this with a bit of sarcasm in his voice. But at the same time it is YOUR LIFE. Something a lot us forget… Most people work for someone else, or live someone else’s dream… You do what your told to do, sit in your little cubicle, go to work, go home, go to work, go home, eat, sleep, watch TV and waste time on shit like Facebook. More slavery for you.

And during all this time, not only are we not aware that it’s our life – but we don’t ever realize that soon enough – it will be over. What’s the point then? If you’ll be working for someone else your entire life, if you’ll do everything how society thinks you should do, if you can’t fucking think for yourself and if you don’t have the balls to say whatever the fuck you want to say – why do you live? So other people can walk all over you?

We need to wake up. We need to start living our life, not tomorrow… today. We need to brake free and enjoy every moment of our life and freedom.

The problem is that most people don’t think of death… You are not aware that today you could die. Yes, you could. I could, we could all die today. But nobody thinks of that. OK. Maybe you’re thinking – why would I be thinking of death?  Here’s why. If you knew that you COULD die today, how would you change your behavior? If you knew that there is no tomorrow, would you talk the same way to your mother and father, or anyone else that’s important to you. Would you argue with them over bullshit or would you tell them you love them?  What would you say to someone that’s acting like an asshole to you? Would you be quiet and act nice just so you don’t lose your job – or would you beat him up?

There is an old Bushido Samurai Code – it is a samurai’s duty to think of death, every single day. Not fear death – but accept it. Understand that it will happen, that it is inevitable. That it is natural, and that it may happen anytime. The point of this fight club quote is that you absolutely have to USE every moment you have to truly live, to truly enjoy your life and give the best you can to accomplish anything you want – Seize the day… Carpe Diem.

Losing all hope was freedom

The more freedom you have in life the happier will you be. I strongly believe that in order to reach the top in life – you need to hit rock bottom first. You just have to be down there if you want to get the willpower and motivation to climb to the top of “Mountain Success”. All of us feel like shit from time to time, all of us feel when life get’s though and hard, and sometimes we feel like “it can’t get worse then this” (and then it starts raining J ), but seriously – do we know what the bottom looks like? There is always someone living a harder life then you are… so stop whining. I hate people that whine all the time. Especially men that are whining… they’re pathetic.

One day, if you really hit rock bottom – you will start losing hope. You will try to fix your life, but somehow, nothing will work – and then it might happen that you lose all hope – as many people do. At that moment you will stop giving a damn about what other people think of you, and in general you won’t give a fuck about bullshit, or anything else. You just won’t give a fuck. This is both good and bad. Bad – because you gave up, and good, because you will be free from social conditioning, you will be free to do anything, ‘cause you have nothing to lose – it can’t get worse than it already is. (or so you think).

This is a great feeling, I’ve been there a few times, and it really made me free, I felt like I could do anything… I just didn’t care what anyone thought of me, I didn’t stress myself over stupid things most people do. This is one of my favorite Fight Club quote… If you start from the bottom you will be 10 times more motivated to get to the top, then someone else that started from the middle and is already more or less comfortable in his life…,

The things you own end up owning you

Exactly. Think about it... back in 1999 when Fight Club was made, it was just the beginning of slavery to computers – now? People are fucking addicted to their cell phone, computer and other bullshit. I know people that spend more than 10 hours a day on Facebook! That’s fucking sick. But that’s another thing... in this quote, Jack’s telling Tyler that he lost everything when his condo blew up – Tyler answers him in a nonchalant/sarcastic way – „Shit, and now it’s all gone“.

People are addicted to things they own – the more things you have the more trapped you are. Somehow we trap ourselves with material bullshit, we buy a bunch of stuff we don’t need. Why? Is it possible that we are all emotionally unstable? Do we really have to BUY things to feel good about ourselves – or did society make us think we need all that shit? Probably both. Either way – it’s pathetic.  Do we really NEED to buy something to be happy? Just think about it how stupid that is. OK – some things are normal, but most people are obsessed and try to gain happiness from the outside – happiness comes from inside, not the outside. But most people don’t understand that.

Here’s a little exercise for you – Live 10 days without watching TV and without using your computer. I know, you will start making up excuses „I have to work“ „I’m waiting for an important email“ „bla bla bla“. Whatever. You are an idiot if you can’t live 10 days without a computer and TV. Do you understand what it means if you’re unable to do this „freedom exercise“? It means that you are a slave... that you have no real life.

Believe me – these 10 days will be the most beautiful 10 days you’ve had this year. The first 2-3 days will be hard for most people, but after that, you call a friend of the opposite sex – have some fun, go out, party. You call an old friend, you read a book, you go out for a walk and do something normal. Suddenly everything becomes more clear – your senses get stronger, you can see, hear and smell better. You can feel the world around you and you feel alive and free. That is how you will feel if you give up something that controls you, something that you „need“ every day.

Now that the economic crisis hit the world – you can actually see how many people are slaves to what they own. Hundreds of thousands lost their jobs, tens of thousands  went crazy. Many died from heart attacks, even more of them got divorced. Hundreds of people went insane and are currently in mental institutions... many committed suicide.  Think about it for a second – these people are all idiots. I understand, they’ve lost their jobs, homes and money, but why give up and kill yourself? Yes, you bought a bunch of stuff on credit, yes you were stupid. But why kill yourself because you won’t have money? Half of the world is STARVING, and these idiots kill themselves because they won’t have any more money to spend on bullshit they don’t need... pathetic.

Don’t let anything shake your confidence in life. Don’t be a fucking slave. Wake up and truly live your life. Don’t be afraid to tell people what you think... speak up and fight, say what you think. Honesty will free us all.

Fight Club is full of awesome quotes. Keep on reading, and wake up,

Jack
